Registration
The fee for enrollment is $550 ($844 Canadian) for CAS members, active candidates, and subscribers, and $650
($997 Canadian) for nonmembers. An active candidate of the CAS is one who has attempted at least one CAS actuarial
exam in the last two calendar years.
The registration fee includes two continental breakfasts, one reception, a luncheon on Monday, refreshment
breaks, and all materials needed for the seminar.
All fees will increase by $50 if registration is received after March 16, 2001. The CAS Office staff will send
a confirmation by regular mail to all registered attendees.
Lodging
The April 2001 CAS Special Interest Seminar on Understanding the Enterprise Risk Management Process will be
held at the Sheraton Fisherman's Wharf Hotel, 2500 Mason Street, San Francisco, California 94133, (415) 362-5500.
The Sheraton is only steps away from the alluring aromas of fresh seafood, the bustle of shopping at Ghirardelli
Square and The Cannery, and boat tours of the San Francisco Bay Area and Alcatraz leaving from Pier 39.
A limited number of rooms have been reserved for the evenings of April 1 and 2. Rates are $169 for a single or
double room, per night, plus taxes. Hotel reservations must be made by March 9, 2001, and can be made by calling (800)
325-3535, or by contacting the hotel directly at (415) 362-5500. Please specify that you are with the Casualty
Actuarial Society when making reservations to receive the negotiated group rate.

Transportation
The Sheraton Fisherman's Wharf Hotel is located 16 miles from the San Francisco International Airport. For
door-to-door van service from the airport to the Sheraton, pick up your shuttle on the upper level of any terminal, on
the center island outside the airline ticket counters. Fares range from $11-$14 per person.
Delta Airlines is offering discounted airfares to all seminar attendees. To take advantage of these reduced fares,

Cancellation Policy
Registration fees will be refunded for cancellations received by March 23, 2001, less a $50 processing fee. Only
written cancellations will be honored. Cancellations will be accepted by fax at (703) 276-3108 or by e-mail
at kdean@casact.org.
Suggested Attire
Business casual attire is suggested for all sessions, including the receptions. Since temperatures may vary in
meeting rooms, it is recommended that you bring a sweater or jacket to the sessions. The average temperatures for
San Francisco during the month of April are a low of 49° F and a high of 61° F.
